Living at Twerton Mill
Twerton Mill is located just outside the beautiful city of Bath. In a short bus journey you can discover one of England’s most historical cities.
Bath offers something for everyone with many fascinating experiences including the must see Roman Baths, the inspiring Bath Abbey, performances at the Theatre Royal and the famous rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa and much more.
For sports fans you can catch a match at the local Bath Rugby Club or Bath City Football Club or why not have a day out at the races at Bath Racecourse.
If shopping is more your thing then Bath has a variety of shops on offer, from the big brand names to small, independent boutiques.
For nights out Bath has lots to offer from live music, open mic nights to cabaret and comedy, there is something to suit all tastes. There are also plenty of pubs, bars and clubs with many offering student discounts!
Being a Fresher in any city can be a bit daunting, but don'y worry the CRM team have seen it all before and are on hand to guide you through it.
Our Accommodation team can tell you everything you need to know, from which bus to take to which area serves the best kebab at 1am. Our team are also on hand to help with the more basic questions such as how the oven works (or how to make a Pot Noodle!).
Get to know your housemates and be yourself; you'll make great friends and you can all explore this city together.
Local pubs, clubs, restaurants and more...
At Twerton Mill you could not be better placed to spend your days as a student. There are many great bars, pubs and local interests within a short distance of the accommodation. We've put together a few of our favourite hotspots:
Po Na Na, 8 North Parade, BA2 4AL.
“Po Na Na, Bath has long been established as the areas number one credible late night venue, combining an array of musical genres and catering for a wide range of customers, Po Na Na, Bath has long been established as the areas number one credible late night venue, combining an array of musical genres and catering for a wide range of customers.”
The Boater, 9 Argyle Street, BA2 4BQ
“The Boater boasts a fantastic beer garden which has idyllic views of the river. A favourite pub for students and sports fans especially when the local Rugby team is playing. They have a great home cooked menu and serve a superb collection of local beers.”
Komedia, 22-23 Westgate Street, BA1 1EP
“Leading arts and entertainment organisation Komedia opened its second venue in Bath in November 2008 at the old Beau Nash Cinema, in the heart of the city.
Inspired by the European tradition of cabaret theatre where audiences can enjoy a meal while watching a show, Komedia Bath has won many awards including the Chortle Award for ‘Best Comedy Venue in Wales and the West’ in 2010, 2012 and 2013. Komedia is also active on the Edinburgh Fringe, producing venues and promoting its artists and resident shows, and is a producer of broadcast entertainment.”
The Cosy Club, Southgate Place, BA1 1AP
“The interior is an eclectic mix of reclaimed tables, old leather dining chairs, reclaimed railway waiting room benches, old lab stools, Victorian lampshades & Eastern European factory lights. On the raised area, complete with a couple of feature antler chandeliers, the walls are adorned with old oil paintings & prints. The simply stunning balcony is easily one of Bath's most impressive al fresco dining spots, where you can people-watch to your heart's content.”
The Pig and Fiddle, 2 Saracen Street, BA1 5BR
“Six hand pulled local real ales and ciders, plus a great range of lagers, wines and spirits make it a place worth finding, but it's the staff and the customers that are the real stars. Despite only being 20 years old The Pig feels like a proper pub, all are welcome, as long as you know how to behave.
The Pig is not a quiet pub by any means, in fact at the weekends it can be a bit of a squeeze, but it is generally a good natured, happy place to be and we intend to keep it that way.”
