Living at Slade Park
Slade Park is located on the outskirts of Oxford, the city of dreaming spires and the home of Inspector Morse. Within a few minutes of the site you can discover one of England’s most beautiful cities.
Oxford has many fascinating tourism hotspots like the Ashmolean Museum, Carfax Tower, the Bodleian Library (where they filmed Harry Potter), the Sheldonian Theatre and the Botanical Gardens – so take advantage of everything Oxford has to offer. If it’s sunny, try punting on the river, take a relaxing river cruise, or open top bus tour? Maybe climb to the top of one of Oxford’s many towers and witness the breath-taking views of the city and historic Port Meadow. If you would prefer to travel outside of the city, why not take in the delights of Waddesdon Manor or the beautiful palace and grounds at Blenheim.
Is shopping is your passion? Then look no further. Oxford has a vast variety on offer, from small, independent bookshops found in the cobbled back streets, the covered market with its specialist food shops and clothing boutiques to large, well loved brands; you are sure to find something that will fit the bill!
The city has a vibrant nightlife and hosts a number of pubs, clubs and cocktails bars which of course offer students the best prices going! If you are into live music look no further than the O2 Academy on Cowley road, where you will also find a great selection of places to eat, all with an international flavour.
Slade Park itself, is set in a residential area of Oxford, 1 ½ miles from Oxford Brookes Headington Campus and is located directly on the Brookesbus route (U5 and U5X) with regular services to both Headington and Wheatley campus. Also there are direct buses to Oxford city centre and the Rail station where you can get a direct train to London or Birmingham.
Within 200 metres of the accommodation there is an Aldi Supermarket. A 10 minute walk will take you to the local shops of Wood Farm (Co-op, bakery and post office). For a wider choice, visit the large retail park, where you will find a 24hr Tesco, Burger King and Sports Direct or visit central Headington for a range of local high street stores, cafes and pubs.
If you are just wanting a coffee, check out the Costa coffee in Tesco’s or the Café Nero at nearby central Headington.
