1. Can I move out early?
Yes but you will still have to pay rent for the full length of your agreed tenancy, even if you no longer live at Queens Court.
2. Do I have to pay Council Tax?
Students do not have to pay Council Tax, but you must inform the council that your are a student and apply for exemption as this does not automatically happen. It is the responsibility of every student to apply for exemption, your University/College or accommodation provider cannot do this for you, though we can help you!
3. Can I live with my friends?
Yes you can share a flat, you need to let us know who you’re planning to live with. Provided we have the availability at the time of your booking, there shouldn’t be a problem. If you're looking to share a studio with a friend or partner you will have to book together. Please contact us for further information.
4. Do I need a UK based guarantor?
You only need to provide a UK-based guarantor if you wish to pay your rent in three instalments. You do not need to provide a guarantor if you’re paying the full annual rent in advance. From 2014 we've teamed up with Housinghand who specialises in providing UK students and International students guarantor services. For more information, please click here.
5. What happens to the £250 deposit? Is it refundable?
Yes, when you move in the £250 is put into a Government approved tenancy deposit scheme, it is returned 10 working days after the tenancy ends minus any agreed deductions for damages. This is discussed with you at a check-out inspection.
