We accept payment of rent by credit card, or you can transfer funds to our client account. When you arrive in the UK we would advise you then to open a bank account.

We take £250 as a booking fee which becomes your deposit when you sign the Tenancy Agreement. This will be returned to you at the end of your tenancy as long as your studio is left in good condition. We hold all deposits in the Government approved Tenancy Deposit Scheme for your protection and peace of mind.

Your rent is payable in three instalments: the first ten days before your tenancy starts; the second on 18 January; and the third on 19 April. Students without a UK guarantor have to pay the full amount of rent in advance and cannot pay by instalments.

Our studios start at £145 per week for a studio averaging 18m2. Generally we have standard, medium, large and extra large studios, and the PLUS studios within each range are bigger and/or have the best views. Yes. All our studios have a double bed and loads of storage. We also have some Double Studios which are specifically designed for 2 people (very large studios with 2 desks, 2 wardrobes and generally a dining table and chairs etc). In either case, you will each need to sign a Tenancy Agreement and pay a separate booking fee.

Small things like that are not included in the rent, but we do have different move-in packages for sale and can supply everything you need. So, if you want, you just need to bring your suitcase! What do you mean you don’t believe washing can be that sexy? Ok ok – so it may not be the most interesting of things here at King Square Studios, but it is pretty cool! You don’t need cash to use them, as there’s a smart card you can use when you need to wash your smalls. Clever, and massively convenient, too - but that’s not the bit that will really impress your friends! You see, if you’re fed up of guessing whether the washing machines or tumble dryers are in use or not (and usually getting it wrong) well now you don’t have to! All the equipment is connected to the on-site internet system, so that you can simply hop on to your computer to see which machines are available, or how far through their cycles they are if they’re being used. So if you’re so minded – or just really, really bored – you can now watch your clothes going round and round in virtual. Of course, that way you do know when your clothes are ready, too (at least that’s your excuse if you get rumbled). And you can do all this from the comfort of your studio, or whilst sitting just a few steps away whilst playing games, chatting or having a coffee anywhere in the Community Hub. Now you have to admit that is worth bragging about!

Very fast! Already included in the rent is 10Mb guaranteed high-speed broadband from Ask4 – the UK’s fastest student broadband provider. That’s 10Mb for both uploads and downloads. And that’s not ‘up to’ 10Mb – that’s guaranteed. For an additional cost, it can be upgraded to a guaranteed 30Mb, 60Mb or 100Mb. All studios also have a large flat screen TV, tons of UK & International satellite channels, FREE access to Ask4’s state-of-the-art IPTV service (Freeview and International satellite channels on your computer), on-line games, free firewall and anti-virus software as well as their unlimited remote data back-up service.  Ask4 also offer students at King Square Studios access to their other services at a negligible cost, including access to 50 hours personal storage for recording live TV, allowing you to record, pause, rewind and fast-forward as you wish, a studio telephone and intercom, a Skype telephone, as well as other security features. In addition, we hope to bring you Ask4’s Video On Demand service as soon as it is rolled out by them, meaning you’ll never need to rent another movie or TV series again!

Well, it’s part of the Community Hub and is yours to use for FREE when you live at King Square Studios. It’s the real thing! – a dark comfy room with a load of squishy chairs, plus full projector and 5.1 audio surround sound speaker system. And being a state-of-the-art cinema system, it’s internet-enabled to, so you can almost literally be part of the action in the life sized on-line games with the Nintendo Wii, Xbox or PlayStation supplied free; or alternatively just watch your own DVDs with your friends, or come along to one of our regular movie nights. All you need to do is bring your own pop-corn!

Well, it’s part of the Community Hub and is yours to use for FREE when you live at King Square Studios. You must be inducted first, after which we will programme your security access fob to allow you entry so you can enjoy the brand new fitness equipment without having to step outside your new home!

We have 40 spaces available. Where else can you find student accommodation in Bristol with so much parking? Your pride and joy (or old banger) will be safe and sound in our secure gated and CCTV-covered on-site car park. There is a charge for the parking, currently £750 for the year. Once you have paid this, your security access fob will be programmed to allow you access in and out of the gated car park. They are being sold on a first-come-first-served basis, so hurry and book your parking at the same time as you book your studio!

Ok! (Deep breath.) So, every studio has a large 26" flat screen TV included in your rent. It is usually located conveniently above your desk so you can use it as a monitor for your computer (cable included) and so that it can be seen from your (double) bed. Some studios even have a second flat screen TV where the layout means this is not possible. We supply all the usual free-to-air digital channels, as well as some international satellite channels to cater for different language preferences. In addition to this, we provide free access to the state-of-the-art IPTV service run by Ask4, which delivers around 100 TV & radio channels straight to your computer. So you can watch TV on your TV, or on your computer. Or even on your computer connected to your TV! You can connect to Sky TV if you like, or go for Ask4’s new service 4Record which allows you to pause, rewind and record 50 hours of live TV. And in case that’s not enough, you can watch TV in the large TV Wi-Fi Lounge in the on-site Community Hub. And if your eyes still aren’t square after all that, then how about some TV or a DVD in the fully equipped and internet enabled Home-Cinema. Oh – and by the way – all of this is completely FREE! You are responsible for obtaining you own TV licence as you would be anywhere if you brought your own TV. However, for a limited time only, we will even pay your TV licence if you book for 51 weeks.

Although there’s loads of storage in the studios, we also have large single or double self-storage cages on-site for your surf board or golf clubs etc, or for your bags at the end of the year if you don’t want to take them home. There is a small charge for these.

The point is that not only do you get all this (did we mention they’re free of charge?!) which other blocks simply do not have, it also means social events can be organised easily – eg screening of the latest blockbuster in the Home-Cinema on movie nights or drinks evenings in the Wi-Fi lounges etc – all at a competitive rent (including FREE contents insurance!) compared with the other blocks. So not only do you get one of the highest specification studios in town, you can also enjoy all these unrivalled facilities where you will meet new people and make friends.

Most student accommodation – or digs – come in one of 2 varieties: either a rented room in a shared house owned by a private landlord, or a rented room in a flat (or floor or corridor) run by a university or private organisation. The older the property, often the worse the condition. King Square Studios is proud to have none of the above. All of our luxury accommodation, brand new for 2010, is made up of studios. That means that your new home is in effect a self-contained open-plan flat. You have all of it to yourself. No more arguments over the remote control, or hunting for the mould-free bowl in the sink. It is of course fully furnished, and all our studios have as standard and at the very least: loads of storage, a full-size double bed and bedside table, wardrobe, desk and chair, shelving galore, a large flat screen TV, your own kitchen (some PLUS studios have an extra large kitchen) with dining bar and seating, and your own ensuite, with double shower or a few with a huge corner bath! The PLUS studios are the largest studios in that type and/or are on a higher floor (yes – there are great views, and no you don’t need to worry – we have plenty of lifts in the building) or those with extra large kitchens – and some even have 2 TVs! It really is the future of student accommodation, only it has arrived here first in Bristol. Oh – one last thing we should add: also as standard is the reaction you’ll hear from most people you tell about King Square Studios – something along the lines of: “Student accommodation never used to be like that in my day!”

PLUS studios are the best studios within each category. Depending on the studio, it will either be a larger studio within its category, and/or it will likely have the best views. Depending on the studio, a higher category PLUS studio might boast other features such as a bath, a bigger kitchen, an additional dining bar stool, extra storage, an armchair or sofa, an extra TV, air-conditioning, a dining table and chairs etc. You can download the Studio Floor Plans under the Further Information menu in the right-hand column on most pages of the website, which show all the studios in detail. Every studio is ever so slightly different, so hurry to pick your favourite one before they are all gone!

Your studio is all yours – which is great – although it does also mean you have no-one else to blame for the mess! We ask that you keep your new home in good condition. To help you with this, we provide hoovers and other equipment free of charge on each floor of the building.
