Lancaster used to be best known for its amazing history and architecture. The impressive 11th century Lancaster Castle and 73 metre high cathedral tower over the rest of the city.

As you stroll down the old streets in the city, it’s impossible not to be blown away by the incredible architecture around you – the museum on Market Square and the Town Hall are particularly remarkable.

Today, the old, traditional city has been joined by a new, student friendly side – full of new places and experiences to try.

Lancaster is known as the City of Coffee, with the smell of coffee beans roasting filling the air. There are dozens of Instagrammable shops in the Coffee Quarter. If you consider yourself as a coffee connoisseur then look no further than The Hall which recently won an award for the best flat white in the UK.

If a coffee shop isn’t your thing, then how about the pub? The city claims to have more pubs per square mile than anywhere else in the country. Now we can’t verify these claims but we do know that you’re never more than a five minute walk from the next pub when you’re in the city centre.

We’re confident you’re going to love your time in the city, even more so at our student housing in Lancaster.
