Extend and personalise your cover to protect laptops, phones and other valuables.
It is important to find out exactly what you are covered for, as you may find that the contents cover is not sufficient and you need to extend it to protect all of your possessions both inside and outside of your room.
In the light of the coronavirus (Covid-19), Endsleigh is making some change to your policy to support you in this uncertain time.
Below outlines the key changes we have made to your cover and how they will impact you and your students:
Endsleigh has waived their un-occupancy exclusion of 60 days. Your possessions will be covered under your policy for an unlimited period of time during the policy period.
If you are returning home then Endsleigh will cover your possessions against theft for up to £500 per bag. This protection is in place anytime a student has to do this during the policy period. Cover only applies within the UK.
Endsleigh will cover your possessions if you put these into storage. This includes all valuables up to the limits and perils on your policy certificate.
Yes. We do not provide any bedding or towels. You can arrange a bedding pack to arrive in your room using our providers UniKitOut.
All parcels are delivered to the Accommodation Office. You will be notified of any deliveries and can collect during office hours.
Our normal working hours are 09.00-17.30, Monday to Friday. When the office is open we would be more than happy to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. Outside of these hours we have resident student ambassadors and an Out-of-Hours phone service which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You are responsible for your own cleaning. We do provide a cleaner every 2 weeks who will give the communal areas and shared kitchens a light cleaning.
You are welcome to stay for the full length of your contract and do not have to leave during the holidays.
A member of staff will only enter your room without notice if it is deemed an emergency. 24 hours notice will be provided should entry be required for any maintenance or other issues. You will not be notified of the bi-weekly cleaning of your kitchen.
We are more than happy to accommodate groups as well as individuals. Where you’re not booking in a group, we understand your flat mates will be key to your experience so when you book as an individual, we will ask you a series of questions to help us to match you with the perfect flatmates.
Students do not have to pay Council Tax, but the council must be informed that you are a student and apply for exemption as this does not automatically happen. It is the responsibility of every student to apply for exemption, your University/College or accommodation provider* cannot do this for you, though we can help you!
*With the exception of Edinburgh College Residences.
You only need to provide a UK-based guarantor if you wish to pay your rent in three instalments. You do not need to provide a guarantor if you’re paying the full annual rent in advance.
We ask you to pay a Holding Deposit to secure your room. When your tenancy commences, the Holding Deposit will convert into a refundable Security deposit. All deposits are registered with TDS which is a government accredited Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme provider. At the end of your tenancy a final inspection of your room will be carried out prior to your move out and if any deductions are required they will be discussed with you at this point. Assuming the room and its belongings are in the same condition as when you moved and you have provided your bank details within our Portal you will get your deposit back within 10 working days. If you cancel your room booking within 14 days of your Accommodation Offer then you will be entitled to a full refund. After 14 days, the Holding Deposit is non-refundable*. Please refer to our cancellation policy for full terms and conditions.
*not applicable for bookings made at properties in Scotland.
